Founder Bio: Jack Nulty

Our company’s founder, president & CEO is Jack Nulty. Jack’s secret to success is simple: “take your work, not yourself, seriously.” Jack started his professional career pushing carts in the parking lot of Sam’s Club back when carts were metal and Texas was hot! At that time he also studied Architecture at The University of Texas, Arlington.  Jack has designed a home or two over the years, but he is proudest of his accomplishments while at Sam’s where he holds the record for highest number of hit cars in one week (18)!  Jack was quickly promoted to an inside sales position; aka a cashier at register #18, believe it or not.

Somehow Jack talked his way into membership sales and later into product sales where he met up with Texas Plywood & Lumber Co.  He convinced them to purchase what turned out to be a piece of junk candy machine, which he repaired regularly.  Jack’s willingness to fix the machine rather than pawn the customer off to the manufacturer won him the respect of their production manager who suggested Jack apply for a sales position with the company.  Jack jumped at the opportunity!

Jack interviewed for the job but wasn’t offered the position.  On his way out, Jack stopped by HR and shrewdly asked what the next steps were.  They processed the paperwork, the following Monday he showed up for work, and the rest was history.  He quickly became one of the top performing sales people even though no one claims to have ever hired him.

From there, Jack went on to start a small door company but quickly closed up shop to work for the largest building supply company in the DFW market, BMC where he became the top sales person each year.

Finally, Jack became the CEO of Homes for Hope working with the finest homebuilders across America to build homes for the charity.  The charity grew from empowering 5,000 families living in extreme poverty during his 1st year to averaging over 40,000 families in the course of seven years with the organization.

On a side note, Jack volunteered for four years as the president over a men’s ministry for 51 churches & served as his town’s president of the ministerial alliance. Jack was also hired by a city manager to strengthen employee relations.  Relations have never been better.

When Jack isn’t working he can be spotted driving around in his old rusty white 1971 Chevy truck.  The thing gets awful gas mileage … so, hire Jack’s company – he could use the help.

Fun facts: Jack is A-List with Southwest Airlines, has made an art of sleeping in his car, and has some hilarious stories about staying on the cheap!  “Hey, when you run a charity, every dollar matters,” says Jack.
